About.Us
Matt & I met in high school & dated for a short while. We reunited in college after meeting for coffee one day & became inseparable ever since. Matt proposed on April 21, 2006 & we were married on September 29, 2007. Matt is originally from Flint, MI & moved to Grand Rapids, MI when he was little. I was born & raised in Grand Rapids. We bought a house & moved to Midland, MI shortly before our wedding. We received news that we might have to move to North Carolina for Matt's job at the end of November. After long discussions, we decided to just do it & so here we are in Greenville, NC!
Our.Wedding
Our wedding ceremony took place in Grand Rapids, Michigan at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church. It is a very old cathedral built in the 1800's... my dream! We went for a pretty traditional wedding day with red roses & a vintage getaway car. Everything was fantastic.
Our.Honeymoon
We took a week-long vacation to Aruba, which was sooo relaxing. Neither of us had been out of the country before so it was cool to be able to share that experience. We stayed at the Riu Palace. Most of our time was spent by the pool & on the beach, but we also took a couple of days to explore Oranjestad (the capital), take a Jeep tour around the island & go snorkeling.
Our.Home
We moved into our townhouse in January. It was quite the adventure though. To make a long story short, we ended up having to live in a hotel for a week before we could actually move in! Oh, but we didn't have much to move in with because the moving company didn't deliver our stuff for another two weeks after that. Yes, we spent two weeks living on an air mattress. Thankfully, our townhouse is furnished now!
Our.Fur.Baby
Oscar is our big cuddle-muffin. I adopted him at the end of April & he was a surprise to Matt. Well, Matt wasn't exactly surprised in a good way but now he & Oscar are best buddies!
